Using the windows built-in task scheduler to schedule execution of automations.
How-to
- Add a new task from the menustrip
- Choose "Perform" > "Task Scheduler" > "New Task"
- Follow the dialog to add a new scheduler task
- To edit and set new schedules for a task, navigate to the task scheduler
- New tasks created through dialogs will be located in a folder called "JRVSInputs" under the "Task Scheduler Library" within the task scheduler window for easy identification
- Choose "Perform" > "Task Scheduler" > "New Task"
- Open windows task scheduler
- Press the "Windows" button and search "task scheduler"
- Left click to highlight "Task Scheduler Library"
- Then right click on "Task Scheduler Library"
- Choose "Create Basic Task" or Double click a task to Edit:
- Follow the task scheduler prompt and provide basic information
- Specify name and description
- Specify when to run this task
- On "Action" dialog
- Select "Start a program"
- On "Start a program" dialog
- Click "Browse" then select the batch file exported from step 1
- Leave optional fields empty
- On "Finish" dialog
- Click "Finish" OR
- (Optional) check "Open Properties dialog for this task when I click Finish" for more options
- (Optional) on Properties window
- (Optional) check "Run with highest privileges" or if needed "Change User or Group" for Admin Privilege
- Follow the task scheduler prompt and provide basic information
